August 25 - 29, 2025 - Hosted by Newton Police Department, Newton, Kansas

Law Enforcement Agencies that issue a patrol rifles to the Officers and Tactical Units have the need for qualified Armorers, Rangemasters and Instructors to service and maintain these weapons on a regular basis, as well as teach Officers in the employment and use of these firearms. This course covers all AR15/M16 type weapons systems made. Armorers will be Certified in the proper maintenance, care, and repair of these weapons systems, including semi-auto and select-fire trigger systems. Instructors will be Certified to teach other Peace Officers in all aspects of the use and care of these weapon systems. This program follows the Manufacturer’s guidelines and is taught by FBI and NRA Certified Instructors.

This course covers all M16/AR-15 weapons systems made by all manufacturers.

This course is 5 days. The first two days cover Armoring and the last three days cover the Instructor Portion.

Student Materials (Minimum Suggestion)

Armoring Students Need to Bring:

  • Unloaded AR15/M16 Rifle (9mm/5.56mm/.223cal)

Patrol Rifle Instructor Students Need to Bring:

  • Unloaded AR15/M16 Rifle with Sling (9mm/5.56mm/.223cal), with at least 3 magazines.
  • 1200 Rds. of Rifle Ammunition
  • Handgun with holster & 100 Rds. Handgun Ammunition
  • Firearms Cleaning Equipment
  • Protective Ear and Eye Wear
  • Hat and Sunblock
  • Bug spray (seasonal)
  • Rain Gear (we will shoot rain or shine)
  • Water to Drink
  • Any student wishing to wear body armor or other tactical equipment will be allowed as it is optional.
Note: It is highly recommended that all students interested in this course already be certified as a Basic LE Firearms Instructor, as well as have received Instructor Development Training. This is because the Instructor portion of this course focuses on teaching the rifle, rather than basic marksmanship and lesson plan development.
